Langtang – Gosainkunda – Helambu

Langtang-Gosainkunda-Helambu Trekking

Glimpses of Nepal Trekstake you up to Dhunche by Bus to show youpopular region of Langtang Gosainkundaand Helambu, this regionis a most famous glancemedium range treks in Nepal with many attractions: scenic grandeur, glimpse of Sherpa & Tamang life, Yak cheese factory , many kinds of birds rhododendron forest, lakes, glaciers & Snow Mountains. Langtang Gosainkunda trek begins from Dhunche and the trail leads up to Kyanchin Gompa and passes the sacred lake, Gosainkunda (4602m.). Exploring colorful Helambu region with delightful Sherpa villages, the trek ends in Kathmandu

Glimpses of Nepal Treks Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu –Syabru Bensi

Drive to trekking starting point. Dhunche is about 8 hour drive which provides you mointain scenery and landscape. Stay overnight there.

Day 2: Syabru Bensi – Lama Hotel

Climb through a variety of small villages and tracts of dense forest, The trek becomes a pleasent walk through trees where Langur monkey (The honey hunter animal) frolic,passing a sice stream and small waterfalls.stay overnight in Lama Hotel.

Day 3: Lama Hotel – Langtang

From here short climb brings us to the right of where the Langtang valley begins as you start going up you will be able to see the beautiful view of Langtang Lirung peak. It is easy to find yak and the wild goats wondering around you. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 4: Langtang valley – Kyanjing Gompa

A beautiful town which provide excellent panoramic close up view of Langtang Lirung Genjempol, Ganjala and Naya Kenga Himal ranges. A visit to cheese factory, see the beautiful Buddhist Monastery built 400 years ago. It is a good experience to try to climb to Tsergo Ri (5033m)

Day 5: Rest day at Kyanjing Gompa

Explore around the glacier and himalayan Yak pasture.

Day 6: Kynanjing Gompa – Lama Hotel

Trek down to Lama hotel, overnight in camp.

Day 7: Lama Hotel – Big Syabru Bensi

Day 8: Big Syabru Bensi – Sing Gompa

Day 9: Sing Gompa – Gosainkunda Lake.

The trail to Lauri Binayak is steep & continues for three hours. Then the trail becomes much narrow & misty as well as change in vegetation too as the green vegetation becomes much deserted & rocky. From lauri Binayak takes about 3 hours to reach to Gosainkunda.

Day 10: Gosainkunda – Ghopte

After expore around at at Gosainkunda, we set for another day’s walk. The walk goes through a steep trail for 2 & half an hour & crosses a pass at 4500m and the trail is too rocky. After the pass the trail becomes to descend & the slope continues for about 3 hours & reaches to Ghopte for the night halt.

Day 11: Ghopte to Tharepati (3510m)

The trail continues through the forest of pine & juniper about 2 hour’s slope up to Thadepati

Day 12: Tharepati- Melamchi

A short, steep descent through mixed fir and rhododendron forest rich with bird life. Crashing waterfalls sound from the rocky gullies below as you approach Melamchi

Day 13: Melamchi – Tarkegyang

The trail descends steeply to the valley floor, where you can have a well earned dip in the crystal- clear river before completing the short and mild ascent up the other side of the valley. Tarkegyang boasts an 18th century Gompa with huge brass prayer wheel.

Day 14: Tarkegyang – Sermathang

A flat pleasant walk to Shermathang for walking. This is a an entering Sherpa village and they will be happy to introduce themselves that they are different from the Sherpa of Khumbu(Everest region) In the clear day the villages provide good views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gosainkunda and Rolwaling, Even Everest also in a distance.

Day 15:Melamchi – Kathmandu

Melamchi drive back to Kathmandu transfer to hotel

Day 16:Rest Day at Kathmandu

Kathmandu free day, evening culture show with Nepali dinner, hotel

Day 17: Departure

Drop to the airport for the final departure
